A lot of DIY was cracked out at our home this week, beginning with finishing off our outside steps, having some friends over to help us with our extension prep, and failing at moving our digger round the side of our house. Thank you so much for watching and see you next week!

What’s happened to the latest video, really misses it this weekend😢
Hi I would get the Brickies in for sure, because if you don’t get this right it will have a knock on effect on the rest of the build and even the roof, so lay the £ out on the brickies cause it will save you in the long run for sure, good luck enjoying your vlogs
If i was you i would pay a bricklayer because you could end up having to rebuild it anyway, but you could ask if he will let you set up for him getting the mortar ready for him and stack the bricks to save him lots of time , great channel
Happy Christmas Nicky , Harri , have a fantastic day and all the best for 2025 xx
What's the skin coat going in mix for
Merry Christmas to you the hosts and your friends and anyone else this might reach
Love watching the both of you and the crew. I'm 70 now, but feel like helping. I'm still working on both my daughters houses and this is when I chill watching your videos. Good luck and keep it up regards Ed
Hi guys, loving the progress, am particularly interested in the building control requirements re the two levels of dpc and how to 'marry' them up, if I remember correctly the extension floor level is several steps down? a wee bit of tech detail on this would be very helpful
For foundation depths you can use the NHBC tables from chapter 4.2. If you’ve got clay subsoil the trees will have an impact on depths. If you’ve can identify nearby trees this will give you a rough idea of the depths you’ll need to dig down to.
I am a new sub here and an old lady. I watch your channel on TV and I don't know how to subscribe from there, anyhow I found that one can subscribe from the phone 😊and so I did. You guys are doing awesome job well done so far.
Get the bricklayer in to complete your extension – if you did his labouring that would save you some money – Good Luck 🍀
My partner and I really enjoyed the bit where Harry yeeted his phone into the van window 😂
Great vid guys! I would say if you get a couple of sheets of ply out the front and cut the bulk bags onto the sheets of ply while the delivery lorry holds them in the air it’s ten times easier to shovel the sand into barrows while still keeping it clean! You’re working so hard and keep the graft up guys! 💪🏻
why let the trades have all the fun.
blockwork is lego for grown ups.
i have a saying, all i can do is fu*** it up.
if i do a rubbish job, ill knock it down, and start again.
i have absolutely no problem with nailing things on the second or third attempt.
(guess how the
professionalstrades learned)£2200
Why don’t you get someone in to set it out and get it up to oversite because from oversite it’s fairly straightforward, you both have a fantastic work ethic
I've always admired your projects, but building your own huge DIY extension from scratch…🤔🤔
£5000 for materials 🤔
Another great video showing you all working so hard. It must be so tough doing it during the winter months. I don't know what to suggest about the brickwork for your kitchen extension. Only you will know if you're capable (with Alfie's know-how) of doing it yourselves (along with regular checks from building control). And anyway, isn't this what the fun is about, especially for us viewers, to see if you can pull it off or not? I have every faith in you. Can't wait to see next week's installment! xx
Y don't you just nock the garage down
Another fab video, you work to hard. Xx
It’s a no brainer, get the professionals for the extension. It’s fine to do little bits like the steps and a bit of the retaining wall but doing the extension yourselves is ridiculous. The steps and the part of the wall you done yourselves would not pass any building standards
Loving the videos keep up the good work
$5000.00
Lay dem blocks, one on top of two……….So easy, what could go wrong 🤔
do you have a beauty filter on? great video guys
I would get the professionals in to do the bricklaying as you have so many other things to do. Let someone else do that graft for you😊
Your giving your local MKM plenty of work are they giving you a good discount
2,775.00 how much was the bill for the broken pipe? Have I missed the announcement or have you not received it yet😂
No disrespect to bricklayers but its not a massively skilled job, the thing that experienced brickies have is speed and efficiency but you can lay bricks yourself. I'd say go for it.
how much does it cost to get planning permission?
Working and learning made people “PROFESSIONALS” you guys are more than professionals and with the care and studies you are making I don’t think you need any professional
With your experience you could 100 percent do it yourselves
Put a shout out to some fans to help with labour
When you bought this house, did you realise how inaccessible the back garden would be?
It’s not what you want to hear, but pay the brickie. They’ll have it up twice as quick, and you’ll be able to use that time elsewhere.
If they can do it, you can do it……just go for it 👍
Approx 2k inc vat for materials. Loving the videos. I'd pay for just a brickie and both labour for him if he's willing. Also I'd take apart the garage to get things through to the garden. Will save so much time and labour in the long run. x x
1k for the cost
Have you thought about a timber frame, with cladding or render carrier boards. Meets building regulations and you can build it yourself (I know as I have just completed a 2 story extension myself). Good luck.
Hi guys u r doing great pay the 2900 and u can be doing something else good on you guys
£10000 for supplies
you should get that little stove fired up any untreated wood put on the stove save on space in your skip and save some money and well done 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍
1£1650
Defo get a pro to do it.
Your time will be better spent on other things whilst they are doing it
You can do it xx
Please please please save any wood/logs. We cut down so many trees without realising our log burner dreams. I think we threw away a year and a half’s worth of logs without thinking.
