  1. Nice to see some youngsters going at this kind of work. Please please just think a little more about safety first as you are working through it. Put your foot down, be boring, stop and take a moment if in doubt. Seen a couple of sketchy as you like moments just in this video alone.

  2. I think I would have added a concrete path down the side. Even if it was temporary.

Notching the underside of the garage joists is a really bad idea because it will weaken the joist substantially. If you didn’t support it then you risk collapse.

Your lack of head protection is worrying. For the love of god buy yourself a some hard hats. They don’t cost much and a bash on the head from something falling on you could be fatal or at best life changing.

  3. Excellent vid but please do stop and think more about some health and safety aspects before you start work. Make the use of PPE (eye protection, masks, gloves, hard hat etc) the rule on any job, no matter how small or quick it will be. You are both working so hard that it increaes the chance of an accident so want to ensure you've taken precautions.

  4. Sorry to be negative but you could of drove that mini 3/4 tonne digger that you ended up with through the pathway in between the house and the garage as the tracks retract. But it was a good video nonetheless!

  5. I have loved watching your updates. I got twitchy seeing that digger wobble, but well done guys!

We got the keys to our reno last Friday. And my gosh its been a whirlwind and lots of hard work so far! 😅

  6. I think you should knock down the garage and make a permanent access around the back of the house where the ramp is.

Having proper permanent access to the land behind your house will be worth it.

  7. Sheds are basically a roof covering over 2 roof panels, 4 wall panels and a floor .The panels are pre made and are just screwed together on site and take less than an hour to dismantle. Just saying!

  8. well done team. Always put that rollover bar back up as soon as possible on a slope. That slope will be helpful for bringing in/out anything else you like. Happy Christmas if i don't see you again before.

  9. I’m sure you know better than I do about the width of your passageway down the side of the house. You have an expanding track digger / doorway digger usually you can drive them through a standard doorway with the tracks retracted. Hence through the alleyway. I personally would have had the wall batons that you screwed and plugged to the wall on the outside of the sleepers. Pressure of your fill pushing against the side of them instead of trying to just rip your screws out. Can’t knock you for your drive and hard work though. Great couple and top set of friends to come and help too.

  10. What width is your alleyway? The diggers tracks and blade retract in to make it about 650-700mm wide (depending on digger) could you have gone down there? Might be worth checking for when you want to get the digger out.

  11. Alfie is an absolute legend. No roll hoop, no hard hat, not even his safety sliders. And a one-handed digger wiggle at the bottom. I hope you're getting Alfie Digger t shirts printed.

  12. Firstly, is it just me or is Nicky right fit! 😜secondly, hearing English language spoken like this is so strange, the words you use! 😂an I am Australian! Finally, in all seriousness, good on you both for having a go, great to see and I am really looking forward to the future videos! ❤
