Long vlog warning! I’m back on form and going all out with a proper vloggy vlog – my first ‘a day in the life’! And we are in all my growing spaces – the front room germination station, the back vegetable garden, the front garden food forest and of course the allotment plot. Plus the kitchen as I make meals with my stored produce from last year’s harvests. There’s loads on my to do list. Expect chillis, luffas, artichokes, roses, fruit tree guilds and lots more. Mark gets hold of the camera again so there’s some #markcam to enjoy too.

Soup with freshly baked bread looks delicious, and well deserved after such a long day🌱
hi there i like watching english allotments. they are much more interesting than the germans because they got too many rul s and regulations, takes the gun out of gardening. anyway, i wouldvluke to comment on your way of preserving the „summer“ in your tomatoes. one way of preserving is waterbathing. you don’t need expensive equipment but obviously you can 😜. i use different method when preserving, one of them, put cocktail tomatoes up to 3cam to the rim in a twist off jar nothing else. close the jar and put them in a waterbath. fill a pot with water. the glasses have to be 3/4 in the water. might have to put a weight on. than put the heat on 90 degrees for 30 minutes. last you for years and when you open the ja, it smells and tastes like summer.
Hi Kerry this is what my sitting room window usually looks like every year. Not this year as I not at home. My daughter had a stroke at 39 and has lost the use of her left hand side so needs help 24/7 so I am only one that can stay. So my plot is mostly on hold my hubby stanley does a bit but I do all the sowing planting etc he does all the tidying and heavy work. I am missing it all terribly I am hoping to get a regular break soon so I can go to plot. But I can’t sow here so I think I will be buying plants mostly. I have bought one of thos mini greenhouses so once the weather is warmer I can put some seeds outside here. But watching you is lovely
You have so many good ideas Kerry❤
Suppose it’s difficult to find a dry time to work the soil there.
Ground up leaves worked into clay soil help break it up. Lol, I would add a ton of perlite and French drains. My in-laws had clay soil and it’s not easy to work with. Lol, when the septic was replaced we were reseeding the lawn and the clay built up on our boots and they felt like 10Lbs each.😂. It holds nutrients and water, but was cement if it dried out and pulling weeds 🙄.
I grew up with sandy soil and do prefer it. I had some topsoil delivered once and it was more clay like so I use that for brassicas as they like heavy soil.
Hello Kerry,
You had a very productive day in the garden, indoors and on your plot.
Your handwriting…well, we won't talk about 😂😂😂
I have got a question for you, tho. I want to grow oca for the first time this year and would like to know if you have to chit the tubers or if you can put them in the ground without chitting. ❤
That was highly entertaining….
Excellent vlog! Nice to see your chillies coming along well. I hope the weather this year is better than last year! 🙂
Hi, I found out yesterday that Dobbies Mountsorrel is going to be Rowena again, which it was years ago 😊
Hi Kerry. Well that was a very productive day: well done indeed. Your stew looked delicious – I bet you enjoyed that 🙂.
I've read a few times that when putting woodchip around new fruit trees it's adviseable to pull the mulch away from the trunk – just to avoid the wet mulch touching the trunk that might encourage mildew etc. I've no idea if it's true – and maybe it's not a problem for yours as the trees are well established. Enjoyed watching your busy day 🙂
LOVE Mark Cam 😂😂😂, wow you really did have a very productive day- now I understand the drawers round the trees- I think. Plus your greenhouse salad bar over the years has been amazing and this year I managed to do a little bit too- such joy picking some leaves in the dead of winter ❤
You’re so organised Kerry! I love a to do list – though I rarely stick to it!! 😂
It must be lovely to be retired: LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!
Bravo!
Loved the vlog! And that homemade vege stew looked absolutely delicious! Yum 💥🫶
Lovely day. Oh my that squash bowl looked amazing.
You’re lucky to have Dorie and Mark. Your cousin, too. ❤. I spent the day topping a field of lilacs on a public estate volunteer project. Too early in the Pacific Northwest to plant seeds even in the green house. We are getting late snow and I learned last year not to get ahead of myself. I AM eyeing that broad-fork. LOL! Thank you. g
im on the the dinning table too ! omg can april hurry upo XD x its a fun time tho isnt it i love it really
I'm working on a fruit tree guild at the moment too but never thought about strawberries as ground cover…. Stealing this lol
Allotment is looking fab. You really have got a lovely growing space there Kerry!
37:12 oh my days 😂😂😂 howling!
'Just chuck it all over!'
🌹🌹🌹🌹 looks like the rose I have from my grandad
I grew mizuna last year but it just flowered. Wasn't sure what to do with it really 🤷🏼♀️
19:08 shameful 😮 😂
That's a job in itself popping all that in the compost bin
Oh baby luffa 🎉 ❤
Always great to spend a day with you Kerry, so interesting. I wish I could get motivated, but my garden and greenhouses and house are dark! I envy you that lovely big window. Where do you get your grow lights from? that might help.
It’s nice to share what you are doing. Thanks
I love that cactus pen 😂 🌵 is it a biro or marker?
Look at all your seedlings 😮
Mine look good, in their packets still 😂😂
That archway needs propping up Kerry, you'll forget one day and bump your head!
Health and safety 😂
My first Crocus is opening nicely & I have now made a start on my 3 tier planter 😊
Well done on a very very busy day. I am tried out just watching you lol.I love to have you bread recipe please
What a lovely opening ❤. I have pricked out and potted on 🌶️🫑🍆 and sown a few more. But as our snow is not going anywhere soon I’m holding off doing much else (I can’t get to the poly and garden 🤦♀️). I’m going to try again (worked great last spring) to direct sow my lettuce 🥬 again depends on snow. 26:48 or a body 😂😂. Fabulous vloggy vlog, have an awesome day, Ali ❄️❄️❄️⛄️🇨🇦
Love the video ❤
can you share whereto get grow light ❤.
thanks
Hi Kerry, what a wonderfully busy day, with lots of Dorie and even a beautiful Ben ❤ My favourite vlog of the year so far 👍❤❤🐕
Loved the vlog 🥰 and the MarkCam was class! 😂
Have your tomatoes been fermenting since the end of last years harvest? Wouldnt it be hilarious if our artichokes are the same varieties….ike what would the odds be??? 🤔 😂
I am pooped out just watching you! Lol After looking at your Chili's I better get going on mine! ❤❤❤
wow super busy lady you've done more in a day than I do all week lol but I have made a start clearing my new huge border of lots of rubble house bricks and ll sorts of stuff , and sowing a few bits n bobs of stuff but exciting times ahead for all us gardeners lol
Well done, that was a good day's work! Even for Dorie, lots of supervising, there, no barking. Happy one luffa is sprouting, hope not all will. 😅 I heard your catchphrases "let's do them all" and "it'll be fine". A proper Dog on the plot video, then.
Enjoyed every bit. Have a great week! ☺
Trude
Hi Kerry…really liked this video…such fun seeing your daily garden routine. Dorrie is a beauty…such a good companion!❤ we are still frozen here in Pennsylvania…ice storm coming in this evening and big snow predicted for next week!! Yahoooooo! It a real PA winter…love it. Am optimistic though…got my mini greenhouse ready and my potting cells…a little early, but it's fun to think about. Thanks for another fun video…will ask the Garden gods to watch over your seedlings. 💚🌿🌱🌹🌬🌬🌬🌬🌬❄️❄️❄️❄️🌍
I’ve done my to do list today – weed brassica bed, put last of wood chip on final path, check greenhouse veg and seedlings are watered.
Love the draws idea Kerry
Hello, great vlog. Can I ask where you got your flat grow lights from? Thank you
Do you think you’ve got concrete or a slab at the bottom of that hole, the water should have drained much quicker I would have thought. I think you might want to plant it somewhere else.
Are you sure you aren’t drowning your seeds. It looked like an awful lot added to already damp compost. Seeds need air as well as water 🤷🏻♀️
