Home improvement strategy I have:
Go for durable, timeless and classics for expensive things; floorings, tiles, countertops, cabinets
Go with your tastes and the trends you like for more affordable things; paint colors, pillow covers, some furniture pieces, artwork, hardware, ceiling fans / light fixtures
That way you can "reflesh" rather than remodel entirely when your tastes or trends change, it's easy to go neutral if you sell the house, and it gives you more flexibility.
They need to start budgeting for home improvement.
If you have great credit, Zero percent credit card till mid/late 2024.
Then pay it off like if you were on fire to ensure you pay 0%!! Would have a minor. % fee. Waaaaay better than any of these guys’ ideas!!
Duh! Get creative people!
Mortgage prisoner here. Sentenced to 30 years with a great rate.

Cash flow if possible!! It’s so difficult to justify getting a HELOC
LOL, the free money is over. People will have to do without or save their money up. 7% for "home improvement" is dumber than a 15% loan on a used car.
