  1. Thank you for such a straightforward video. My boyfriend and I have a dead animal in our basement ceiling that we need to remove and we were worried about filling the hole. Hope everything goes this smoothly!

  2. So for a small area you repaint the whole ceiling, but how about a large area? How do you repaint the damaged part without leaving any mismatch between the old and new paint?

  3. Hi! Great tutorial, thanks for sharing. I addition to a hole, I have long cracks ok the ceiling of my bedroom, would you have info on how to handle this please? (it must be a variation of this tutorial no?). Will I need to repaint the whole ceiling?

  4. Instead of making more work for yourself by cutting out a hole in the ceiling that's already there just use a Dremel on a new piece of drywall. If you don't have one of those still make your square cut and just cut off the corners. Then a little fine-tuning and you're good to go.

  5. Hi,
Thank you for this video! It's the best one I have found. I have a 2 inch hole in my ceiling. I tried to used putty and a patch but gravity took over and it was a big Fail.
I assume it was because I didn't secure it with the wood.
I don't have a drill so I'll have to buy one. Should I just go to lowes for the wood and drill? What is that tape called please? I will show lowes this video. I am very handy once I know what I'm doing.

  6. This is excellent, straightforward and easy to understand. I appreciated all the comments and will read through all of them before I attempt this project. We took down a ceiling fan (bigger hole) and added a can light….what do you recommend to add the dry with a smaller circle – two halves or one square with the round hole for the can light?

  7. I used this video to patch my ceiling. Very helpful!! Especially love the tip about the primer.

But do be careful of the tape used. It irritates the skin. I’ll be switching that out next time for the regular tape.
