Thanks for sharing your experienced skill.
Hearing information from a hands on craftsman is my first priority when seeking advice.
Concise and cogent explanation with no waffle, allowing me to understand first time π
You explain things so well.
You're a good communicator, easy to listen to, no nonsense information, good pace – I made it to the end of the video – that means you're good at making videos. "We love to see a good crack!" – that was funny Roger.
My only crack problem is it itches sometimes
Interested, but you did not show us how to fix the cracks.
Well explained, i am a masonry contractor in southern California, before do any building and explain to customers when i go to look at the work, whether it be flat concrete work with all the steel imaginable and cold joints scored in , build any cinder block or clay brick work, i always tell them this can and will happen in time, i need to hire you sir to explain to them as you European people sound much more proper and educated to us Americans π , you show up and explain there will be no future but why did and is this happen? Brilliant explanation! Simple and straightforward. Love the channel.
During the summer I am watering round the house to stop the clay drying out and the house moving, 2018 was bad…2022 was worse.
We now getting summers like the Sahara desert and winters like Waterworld…My 150 year old built on clay is moving about like the clappers, 2018 and 2022 were real bad. UK houses are just not built for it to not rain for 3 months.
Very informative thank you π
That's very informative and interesting; thank you. I enjoy your channel very much.

If you run a size 10 re enforce rod horizontal through the motar when you build the brick wall, will it not crack?
Cheers mate. you've put my mind at rest. Just moved into a 1962 bungalow with some minor mortar cracking.
I live in a building with subsidence problems directly below me. My apartment floor shakes and vibrates and moves with the slightest reason it's so bad when the weather is very wet that I have had to remove all my furniture fridge cooker bed tools and anything heavy.
I live in a housing association in UK so I'm not expecting any help from them, they cannot even turn up to repair even minor damage. They will never attempt to repair subsidence which will cost 10s of thousands of £££s.
Use recycled sand almost no shrinkage
how do you know what was used as mortar If you have an old house built in (1948) in Phoenix?
