Over the last 10-15 years clamp meters have come a long way and added a ton of features. So much so that a clamp meter is pretty much all you need for residential electrical work. In this video, I will demonstrate the Klein Tools CL120 and how this one piece of hardware can cover 95% of your testing needs.

Why is mine so loud?
Model.number.pls thanks
Im looking for inexpensive DC clamp ampmeter
Great video, very useful!
I 💕 my NCVT
You sold this kit for Klein… to me… they owe you a taste…
This video should not be followed. The clamp metre for checking live is too complex. A voltage tester that only has that one function for testing if a wire is live is preferable. Mistakes could otherwise be made.
This is the type I have in the UK. One function, not dials to to to the wrong setting. Kewtech KT1780 2-Pole Voltage Detector & Continuity Tester With LED Display and Torch.
About to buy my first one today.
I have an Klein MM700. It’s not a clamp function. But I was wondering if they had like an all in one tool. Because I am now going working towards to getting my electrical license. So I want to start now buy getting the right tools. So I am assuming this is one of them.
thanks !
I enjoy your videos. They are very good. This one is a very convincing one to switch to the clamp. One issue I have with an old Extech 22-816 is that it does not indicate which probe (red or black) goes to which side (left or right). Wonder if you care to help to answer that. Thanks
I held the button until I saw EF but it literally beeped from me touching anything… my walls.. my front door
But these basic meters won't read THD of any sort will they? Almost better to get the Amprobe ACD-50NAV especially if you need to check generator THD.
I love u bratha… such a well done video. Thanks! I will be arriving at home Depot shortly to pick one of these up. Thank you! Keep up the great work😊
The Klein does do temp reading. You have to connect the adapter it comes with to the bottom and it will read ambient temp.
Dear sir, Any multimeter can work as discussed?
Never rely on the NCV detector.
HELLO! tester aneng st181 does not turn on after measuring ac, there is nothing burnt, if the chip is burned out, what should I replace it with? Tell me, who knows, thanks!!Digital Multimeter Chip L17463A 7526B/SFM33528 Exercise Board from ali is suitable?Have you tried changing it? Which one is suitable? on the tx rx gnd point board is this for programming? is it an analogue of 7601 or some other one? Thank you!!
I got my first clamp meter probably over 40 years ago; of course it was analog, but it did most of what I needed.
Had no idea what that NCV button on my (non Klein) meter did. Thanks for the tip!
Are we just skipping over how that splitter times' the amperage by 10x? What?!
