  1. Ezy tape no good o0n timber .Paper tape by far the best ..Have done test myself on easy tape and it breaks at the crack.Get up and back block the crack and paper tape only way .35 years always trying not to have maintainence in the future

  2. God I wish I didn't have textured ceilings in every damn room of this shitty house. Imagine having texture and someone saying "yeah just mud it out 3 feet in every direction" at that point I might as well install a new ceiling in the entire room.

  3. IT IS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO REPAIR A DRY WALL CRACK FOR EVER. Soil continues to shift and the earth continues to move, once you have drywall cracks you will forever have drywall cracks

  4. Thanks for the adding a couple of drops of food coloring dye. Very clever and will be really useful for my old and now badly farked up vision. It's the glaringly obvious tips that give me the 💩s for not thinking of earlier. 🤦‍♂️

  5. Been doing this kind of work for 20+ years now and definitely some good tips here like using screws to secure sagged drywall, cutting groove in crack, and setting old fasteners but after that I'm just using paper tape with green lid joint compound. And my 1st coat is like 2 coats because right after I put my tape and pull excess mud from under tape I apply more mud over that and begin my "float" of the bump/joint with my 8" blade. Then couple more coats, sand with angled sponge, dust off and prime with high quality latex primer or use ceiling paint sometimes.

  6. Hello. How to fix the cracks between a concrete wall and ceiling, and the cracks between a drywall and concrete ceiling? Impossible to attach pics here but I can attach them if you reply. It’s a condo. TYVM

  7. I’m love how informative an straight to the point your video is, but mannnn… I wish I would have done this before I finished the cabinets and everything under the ceiling. 😂 Thanks though!

  8. Omg! Being a drywall finisher for forty years this is hard to watch. So he did prep it right, he did use brown bag durabond 90 for bedding the tape, so far so good. The wet sponge is amateur. Any high ridges you can just scrape off easily with your 5-6” knife ( pros call them knives not trowels or putty knives). Not sure why he is using bottled water since this is a repair in a finished home. Lastly drywall finishing takes the longest to learn of most trades, if you have ever tried you know what I mean. I give him a B-
