  1. Grass growing from the clippings is true for some species of grass, and dependent on where they're clipped. Even if grass is cut above the ground, it can still grow again. Maybe that's where that came from? There is truth in it, but it's more specific. I'm taking a botany course atm, and we're currently on grass! 😂 Actually we're discussing specific genera local to our area, but it's really interesting.

  2. I fill holes my dog digs with clippings and I throw the rest on a patch of grass in my backyard where my neighbors won’t see it. We also make it a priority to keep as many leafs as possible under our big deck so we don’t lose the nutrients

  3. grass has a cloning reproduction system, i dont remember if it was a runner type or something else but it means the plant wont grow or reproduce unless theres a part of the root there (normally, there are exceptions), this being said if you cut up a bunch of those roots of grass they will grow into new plants which is a great way to start up a law. its like starfish- cut off a limb and it grows into a new starfish, but without eggs in concideration.

  4. I would only be concerned about the heat fresh grass clipping produce while decomposing, but if you're doing it during chilly weather, I'd say it would help keep your beds warm.

  5. I used this for 2 year but I DO NOT RECOMMEND this if you live in place that get a lot of rain!! Learned this the hard way, when there so much rain it nake the grass grow a lot more. For example the first year was fine bc i lived some were else know i movied to someone were with a bunch of rain and they sprout like crazy! (Not saying locations for privacys reasons)

  6. I use grass clippings, weed clippings anything that'll decompose and put nutrients back into the soil. I also save eggshells and use my blender to break down into very small particles, which deters slugs and adds calcium back into the soil for veggies like tomatoes

  7. My dad used to drive through the fancy neighborhoods searching for grass bags from noce lawns for us to use as mulch. He would ask the homeowners ig he could have it though.

  8. Grass clippings are great if you mow regularly, if you let your grass produce seeds (about 2 weeks between mowings) then you'll be loaded with seeds that'll infest your garden, if you mow about every 10ish days (which is thinknis about normal for alot of people) your grass won't grow seeds

  10. The grass clippings are good for adding nitrogen into the bed, but I would recommend to even it out with dead matter like dead leaves or wood, although if you have filled to bed with these it may be less of a problem but still useful (too much nitrogen may be too acidic for all the life in the soil, making it harder for the plants to survive)

  11. I have too many weeds in my yard to try to do this. And there are always seeds… I would like to do this if my yard was just grass but it’s almost more weeds than grass lol. But we mow it often but weeds never stop flowering here in central Florida

  12. Why you didn’t call me.
You burn 🔥 all your plants 🌱
Do not put grass clippings until the are dry Like three months old
The grass clippings are good for the garden Next year Not b4

  13. I think the only thing that's annoying me is your using a tiny trowel for lifting the grass. get a miniature shovel. (I'm picturing either a "survival shovel" packable/folding shovel type thing.

  14. I used a lawn care service for years, and was told that you shouldn't use grass clippings in your gardens.
I figured that since I was paying for the fertilizer service, I should get the most out of it. By the time that moved, my soil depth was a foot taller than the neighbours and the flower gardens were show quality.
To let you know how good it was, I was regularly getting 30+ quarts of tomatoes from six plants.

  15. reminds me of people who scrape every fallen leaf off their yards and wonder why next summer their fertilizer doesn't make their lawn look any better than a less tended space. these things go back into the earth and recycle the nutrients. if you just can't bear to look at dispersed clippings or leaves, at least make the pile hidden out of public view into a compost and add it back after it breaks down!
