Way to much solder. Completely unnecessary, wasteful, compromising the weld and likely sucking excess solder on the inside of the pipe. You can do better.
When soldering the top joint…always put solder on the bottom First. Then do the sides. Soldered 25,000+ 2/2” copper solar control boards for the Camp LeJuene NC Army base at the housing job. There were 13 solder joints per board. Had 3 leaks out of 2,000 boards.
Bend your solder across the pipe from one side to the other with the end of the solder right on the one edge. This will give you the exact right amount of solder for the given pipe, and keep your joints nicer looking
What drives my ass up a wall is that most people who hit a joint with a flux after soldering don't wipe the damn thing off after. 2 years later and all the joints are corroded and sticky.
What works better than a flux brush? Don't add so much solder and flick the excess drop off with your finger. I guess for the safety of any smooth brains out there, I should add that to do that you should probably wear a rubber coated work glove.
Wipe your pipe with a wet but not too wet rag post solder. It's works better than the brush alone. Just be careful not to touch the pipe or better yet wear gloves like this hero!
Nice one, becoming a master through practice day by day , definitely a good skill to have 🤙🏽
💯💯
Try it with a bad shut off valve and constant water in the pipe… 😂 worst job ever.. lol
Wet rag would do fine if you don't have brushes 😁
Never use the same brush.
If you use that same brush now you've contaminated the flux which leads to leaks.
wipe that flux off after, the acids in eat will keep eating at the copper seemingly forever. Thats why theres green copper oxide at joints years later
Dont flux the fittings
Too much flux , wipe it off before soldering. Start from top. Never use flux brush after soldering .
All the best 👍

Great video
Pex and the gas line scared stiff in the background 😂

The hot water makes copper release lead. Ny other pipe material? Nickel free stainless? Nickel is a neurotoxin.

Start sweating the horizontal joint first then the vertical. It will be a lot cleaner joint as it will be hot already. ❤

I burn up all my brushes too! We must of had the same journeyman .
Why does that sound like a valid joe rogan topic
What gloves are you wearing?

Don't wipe you joints!!!!! Ewwww!!! Melts the damn brush anyway…..
Great job!
I recommend to wipe off any excess flux before soldering. I don’t wipe with the flux brush after. I wait a bit, then wipe with a damp rag or cloth.
An acid brush?
