it's a nightmare when your pan is ceramic on the inside and stainless steel on the outside can't really use steel wool because that would ruin the ceramic coating so I've been using a mixture of salt baking soda lemon juice and scrubbing with a scrub daddy got most of it out but a few black bits still remain but it's good enough
BKF is literal magic. Also awesome for getting the bottom of your sink sparkly clean.
I am assuming that i shouldn't use bar keepers friend on inside of pan? Why not?
Thanks, after watching your video, I bought the Bar Keepers Friend, and it works great.
Is barkeepers cruelty-free?
Loved this video. Thank you!
I have been using BarKeepers Friend on my stainless steel frying pan for about 15 years along with the scratchy back side of my sponge. The pan still shines like a mirror with no visible scratches.
Not for this video but i hate when people say: "it is what it is" when it could have been different given different optons and ideas
Sodium carbonate- that is Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda. Brilliant for stainless & sinks with hot water to dissolve. And drains.
Hi I recently switched to stainless steel and cast iron because of the health risks with non-stick cookware. This video was really helpful actually because the stainless steel situation wasn't really great so many thanks.
Bar Keeper's Friend is the closest i have come to wielding magic. 😂 Amazing stuff!
👏👏👏👏👏
Nice video
Thank you for sharing your hacks but the problem is that you use cleaning products that don’t exist in my country, such as the one in this video… Can you please tell us at least their principal composant. Best of luck!
Can you use bar keepers friend on the inside of a stainless steel frying pan or is it only meant to be used on the outside
Good alternative to bar keeper is Kleen King, cleaned even my darkest of cheap pots, making em look brand new
I find Bon Ami to be just as effective.
THANKS! Useful info! + Any equivalent to "Bar Keeper's Friend" that's sold in Norway? Or Spain? Shipping/tariff/import-exoirt costs have skyrocketed — would be great to find something nearby as good, or even almost as good. Takk, as we say.
Trust me
Cameo works great for removing 'heat' stain from stainless steel cookware. Much faster and simpler than the vinegar method described here.
Great video my friend!!
Microfiber kitchen towel = hipster towel
I've just clicked on a video that tells me how to clean my (checks notes…) "stainless steel" pans. This feels like wrinkle cream marketed at 16-year-olds. (My pans looks like the've served in several wars.)
Just accidentally burned the bottom of my pan a fair amount by walking away and forgetting about it for 10mins.
Going to try Barkeepers tomorrow. What was the small non scratch scourer used? Feel like that'll be very important for the near the edges.
Any help much appreciated. Pretty stressed that this will not end well for me for some reason haha.
The oxalic acid in Barkeeper's Friend will preferentially attack metal oxides (it's a reducing acid). On stainless this is the chromium oxide layer. This is what makes it so effective at cleaning, e.g., stainless steel sinks. It dissolves that surface layer, taking anything stuck to the surface with it, and leaving a very shiny finish.
There is a catch, however. First, once the oxide layer is gone, it will start to eat the metal itself, hence the warnings about limiting dwell time. Second, once the surface is clean and dry the oxide layer will reform. This can take up to 24 hours. If you're not careful with the surface during that time, you can end up with spots and discoloration in the oxide layer that can only be removed by stripping that layer off again. You can "passivate" bare stainless, to get a more uniform oxide coating, by soaking it in a moderate citric acid solution for 10-20 minutes.
Does baking soda work on stainless steel?
Sorry if you already answered this, but can you please share which brand stainless pans you use? Thanks
Thanks! Great Tip…new SUB🙋♀️💕
How to clean the glass cover of pans ?
what is a better alternative for bar keepers friend??
I’m so glad the Pan Police don’t come to my house any more to inspect my equipment.
You could perform surgery in your kitchen! Are you human?😂😂😂 You are an inspiration 🎉🎉🎉
They're stainless steel, why care about scratches lol
The bottom doesn’t matter?? For all of you that say that sthu
Heard this guy has a messy house in real life.
We always put baking soda and water at a simmer. Cleans up a treat.
Green and yellow Spong? I use metal one 😂
