WARNING: In some climates strawberry guava can be extremely invasive, namely tropical regions such as Hawaii and southern Florida. In my context I am growing in a container, on a paved patio, in a desert climate where this couldn’t spread if it even tried to!
I am slowly becoming the guava man as my obsession with guavas reaches new heights. The strawberry guava is quickly becoming my favorite with its laissez faire attitude and delicious fruit.
A few reasons why it’s so great:
1) It grows fast
2) It tolerates neglect
3) It’s absolutely delicious

Make sure to grow responsibility as these trees can easily become invasive
Zone 9b lol I’m confused
The seeds are edible?
So maybe he says somewhere what zone he's in but I just came upon this video. Would these grow in 7B? I'm kind of feeling like they probably wouldn't
Plant name?
How do they cope in winter
Can i grow in uk
Where can I get a strawberry guava plant?
Can dogs eat these?
Please can you send me some of those seeds cause there is no way I can find any of those in Toronto Canada. I literally went to the grocery store and bought the package tamarin washed. It got the seeds put it in a pot forgot about it and it started sprouting now I have a Tamarine tree in my apartment. 🤣😂 but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna stop growing soon because it’s in a large pot but I know they need more space for the roots to dig deep. I would appreciate it. I’ll pay for shipping if you can send me some of your seeds those really look interesting to grow from seedling.
Any reputable nurseries for these beauts?
Could someone recommend a good website to buy the seeds for this from?
Any other dwarf recommendations?
Which strawberry guava have a better taste – red or yellow?
They grow everywhere here in Hawaii, you can find them on almost every hiking trail on Oahu. Me and wife love to snack on them while hiking.
What are the basics for caring for a potted strawberry guava tree? I bought a young plant, probably 24” tall. After receiving it in the mail, I planted it in a container. It did well for the first week, even pushing out new baby leaves, but now it has leaf drop from the top – which typically means it is under watered or the conditions are hot and/or the atmosphere lacks humidity – but one or two lateral branches that are pushing out tiny leaves. About the size of a centimeter right now. The rest of the leaves look fine (for now), and I don’t believe I am overwatering because I check it every two or three days with a moisture meter.
It is being grown on top of an unused wood stove right now, with a heat mat below it and a grow light above. I live in Northern Utah where the winters are well below freezing, so there is some cold air that comes down the inside of the stove pipe. However, it is several inches away from that. I also have a small space heater several inches away from it that faces directly upwards, not close enough to dry the leaves.
Can you grow them as indoor plants? I live in Canada lol
I found two guava trees that are called strawberry guava: Psidium cattelianum and Psidium Littorale. Which is the one that is in this video?
Thank you Mr beast Jr nature channel 😂😂😂
So much valuable information! I will apply it right away!
I don’t like them. Too many hard seeds
Regarding the Beatles eating the trees.
I lived in the woods in Northern California for many years.
I spent many years observing Beatles and ants. I think that the beatles are getting a bad rap.
If you look closely you can see tiny little holes in the tree trunk. The holes are much too big for beatles to make. The ants drill the little holes in the tree to get the sap to leak out and then the worker ants take the sap, like maple syrup, to the Queen Ant for food. The beatles come to eat the ants. The beatles are beneficial insects. Ants on the other hand are related to termites.
You can kill the ants with Boric Acid powder. Put a small amount of Boric Acid powder on all of the ant hills.
The worker ants take the Boric Acid to the Queen ant and when she dies the whole Colony will die within a week.
Next you will notice a foul smell, kinda like "maple methane", that's the dead ants little bodies rotting. The smell will last about 2 weeks.
In about a month you will notice new ants have migrated into the old tunnels.
You will have to use Boric acid powder about once a month for a year or so.
Ants are related to termites.
Boric Acid is safe. Boric Acid is the main ingredient in eyewash and Doctors prescribe Boric Acid liquid to cure thrush mouth in newborn babies. So it is safe.
Boric Acid powder is also very inexpensive. You can purchase Boric Acid powder as 'ant powder' at the DOLLAR TREE for about $1.25 or the Hardware store for about $2.50.
What Zones can it be grown in???? Kinda important.
Can they grow in central Europe?
Can you recommend a reputable grower that sells these? Zone 10A?
Thanks mr. Beast
I want one ✨
Where do I get a guava tree from?
Just got one this year, fruit is delicious! Love your videos!
I got seeds from a botanical garden in Hawaii. Propagated them and have 4 in small pots growing. I plan on getting 2 into 30 gallon fabric pots and keep those for the homestead. The other two I’ll give to my brother and have him do the same. And then I’ll air layer graft from them every year to grow more in containers.
I need to find one! I've got 2 guavas in the back yard. One produces fruit, the other does not.
HAY JACQUES 👍 LOVE BOTH YOUR GUYS CHANNELS NOW TO THE POINT, COULD &,OR WOULD, DO,YOU SELL THE STRAWBERRY GUAVA SEEDS, PLANTS?🤔
I have about 100 of these trees growing wild in my yard and its probably the only guava variety i DONT like , the red and rupe fruit almost ways has worms in it , snd the fruit spoils extremely fast and its not creamy at all its like juicy and floral with a strawberry flavor , it dont tasye bad but there is way too much skin for the amount of flesh and i akway feel like im eating tiny worms even if i find one that dont have a worm lol, now other guavas wont spoil in 1 day and have a nice creamy flesh i really enjoy
