Don't put whole potato… Cut them in 4-5 pieces having 1-2 bud each you will get 4-5 plant from 1 potato
How do you know when they have grown or are ready to harvest and how long do they need to sit before cooking?
❤❤❤❤
Also just noticed that’s ivy not potatoes in the second clip
My lord Harry Potter!! I didn’t know you knew how to grow potatoes well, 50 points to griffindor!
Yes!!!
From spuds to sweet potato…😂 its like magic😂😂😂😂
OMG, this "special effect" jumping is absolutely unnecessary! Can we just watch a simple, informative, to the point video without jumping, suddenly appearing from behind the bushes, without long sleeves that cover nails in cooking videos, without stupid flowers and other decorations in it? My goodness, if you think people like it, nooooo!
Odd looking plant leaves, what variaty are they?
That's a 15 gal bag on the video… I have those … 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I got 3 bags going with yukons
And 3 plants in my big raised garden… 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I'm so excited…
I love it that potatoes are their seeds.
Yes
How many do you get per potato? Or is it just 1:1?
I’m growing
Does this work for sweet potatoes
How would i do this in my apartment
So when you’re hilling the bag, do you remove the leaves that would be covered by the added soil? Kind of seems obvious because they might create rot, but you never know.
How often do you water them?
Excellent video, thanks for sharing ❤️
Amazingly, you plant normal potatoes and there are sweet potato plants, a completely different family.
Thanks for giving the amount of soil needed!
Yes it helped!! Thank you:):) I’ve watched a few videos and this is the first video that actually told me what to do
Instant subscribe. Awesome channel! And that was the best possible response to the Daniel Radcliffe comment. 😂
What is the perfered times to grow them? Is summer okay?
Someone with a keen eye noticed that you planted potatoes but sweet potatoes were harvested 😂 does it matter which ones you plant ? Or can this method be used for any type of potato?🍠 🥔
Most supermarket potatoes are treated with a growth regulator. That means when you plant them, your yield Wii be poor every time. Don’t waste your time and get untreated potato seeds from a garden store or nursery.
The potatoes should be certified seed potatoes when planting in the garden for the first time. You can spread diseases by doing this. not recommended 😕
I have two green leafs popping out .
I have a brown spiky grape size greens growth on my dirt bag potato plant. ??? Going to discard that. Can't find out what it is. Maybe it's a potato which tried to grow outside the dirt. It's a mystery. Potato greens still very viable.
Never mind. Finally found the answer. It's an aerial tuber created at a break in one of the stalks. I moved my dirt bag from inside (well, they eyed in January!) to outside and then strung up the long stalks. Some were harmed but the rest are very happy. I have multiple potatoes sprouting in the bag so it's not just one.
Yes! I bought potatos last week that started sprouting right away. I was upset but remembered the advice about growing more potatoes by planting them. But how do i keep bugs from eating them?
I didn't put mine in grow buckets just planted them in the ground. I have clay soil in Missouri but mixed in some cow poo poo lol and some spagnum moss and compost!! My version of organic grow medium. I need to remember the hilling thing!!!
Thanks for sharing your technique. I started the sprouting my Idaho potatoes. Just purchased my grow bags and soil. Awaiting the sprouting . I hate paying $2.00 for one baking potato. I love eating potatoes.
Yes..!
Hilling only works on indeterminate potatoes
So I used the Mark Watney method (minus harvesting poop) and cut my spuds in half placing the roots up. Should I replant them whole?
Do the same
Yes, I am going to plant purple potatoes!! Thank you for the great advice!
Yes I will be doing this today with my granddaughter for the first time .
Thank you. This is exactly the video that i was searching for. ❤ i subscribed.

It is now almost mid April, south Louisiana. Is it too late to plant potatoes?
