Mick Garvey provides tips and advice on all forms of air rifle pest control in episode 11 of our air rifle hunting series on S&C TV (Shooting & Country TV).
Providing information and advice on the best kit for the job, as well as elements of technique and tactics, Mick covers pretty much every kind of pest control that can be carried out with an air rifle, with rats, rabbits, squirrels and feral pigeons all covered in detail.
Mick has been a professional pest controller for many years, and is also a squirrel warden, contributing hugely to the resurgence of red squirrels in his home county of Cumbria.
So, if you have some rats or rabbits to shoot and are wondering whether to go with thermal or night vision, or some pigeons bothering the farmer and aren’t sure what caliber to use, have a watch if Mick’s pest control tips and advice and see if you find the answers!
This is Mick’s last video of the year, so we’ll see you again in January! Have a great Christmas and New Year, and thanks for watching.

  1. Hi Mick. Some very good tips there. The thermal is a game changer nowadays nothing can hide. I generally hunt rabbits using an HMR or My Maverick fac22. Do you use fac for your rabbit hunts or sub 12 ? or both. Anyway good stuff Mick have a lovely Christmas 🍻
