Ever wondered why there isn’t a tunnel connecting the US to Europe? On paper, it sounds possible, but in reality, it’s an engineering and financial nightmare. From extreme depths and crushing pressure to the sheer cost of such a project, we’re breaking down the real reasons why this idea will probably never happen.

First thing I thought of "What if there is a break in this underwater tube. The whole thing could flood. It would then need to be pumped out. Good luck!
IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED IN MAKING IT HAPPEN. – HAND IT OVER TO THE
CHINESE. THEY. WILL. SHOW YOU. HOW AND BRING. HOME. ON TIME.
America's wannabe dictator has distanced any desire of Europe to have such a direct connection with them. From Canada? Any day!
Um, you still get jet lag. Even worse actually.
The only material you could use to build an underwater tunnel is the same material the Emerald Tablets are made out of! If they actually even exist is the question! haha
Elon is crazy enough to do it
54 MINS,HOW FAST IS THIS TRAIN GOING LIKE 3,000 MPH?
I think even if this could be done, there's no way it would be straight through the ocean. It would probably go from Canada to Greenland, Greenland to Iceland, and then Iceland to Scotland. That is to say, it would probably be broken up into multiple legs where it goes back up to the surface before returning to the ocean, and that would still be cheaper than building the whole thing on the seafloor. But seriously, travel times to Europe via plane are not that bad with a Concorde. That was much easier to do, and people decided they'd rather wait eight hours than pay for a faster option. I imagine this would be even more expensive than a Concorde ticket and would be closed within a few years even if they did build it.
There are far better ways to depict and describe a theoretical transatlantic train route. Rail Canada already runs from Montreal to Campbellton furthest North. Bridging Nova Scotia to Greenland, Iceland, through the Faroe Islands en route to Denmark or Scotland would be more reasonable to service those places, not to mention it's the shortest route. Forget tunneling on the seabed. Building a tube that floats at anchor is far more sensible, but this idea was an afterthought in the video.
Jet lag is from change of time zones🤦🏻♂️not from getting on a jet😆.
See Ocean gate for the effects of a crack in a vessel at at 12,000 feet 💥
Future?! See authoritarian moronic trump 2025 and the weak republican party 🚫🐘
We should have flying cars by now…
A shorter distance would include newfoundland, not the united states. This video is ridiculous.
Nope, too slow! " Beam me up Scotty" or want to be transported w/a wink – head nod w/Jeannie!! 💕😂
The carbon used building this would be HUGE.
Any time savings would be chewed up by having to travel to New York, connecting to the undersea train, then connecting again to another mode of traffic after reaching London.
😂😂😂😂 glob warms every summer😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂
Too long and far and danger about when machine breakdown and crack in tunnel drowned …. fly preferred…
Why are we concerned with CO2 emissions? Trees and plants LOVE CO2. DON'T FORGET IT !
Well China is working on a massive train going from Europe to America and everything in between as well
Creating a ship with a new propulsion is probably the best futuristic non flight method of traveling oceans.
Building a bridge in Europe where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic is almost impossible and you can see how far apart they are . The depth , fault lines/earth quakes, very powerful currents are some of the reasons. I think its called Girbralter.
Damn before staton island
The ultimate reason is, "they are not partners any more"!
Everyone talking about the engineering challenges to dig a tunnel under the Atlantic, the depth, pressure, sea bed, geopolitical issues, financial issues, ROI, carbon footprint and everything other than the fact that 3,000 miles in a few hours means a train doing an average speed of 1,500mph… In a tunnel! Get real please.
The British Channel to Europe was hard and expensive enough to build. No ways the Atlantic Ocean is feasible.
This hasn’t aged well!
Clickbait title
Once again, another pipe dream from Musk who is not an engineer. A person who does not realize or care about the problems that would come from the attempt.
Impossible..extremely
Build a spruce goose larger than wyoming
It would be best to winch the continents together. Ask Elon, he'll tell you it's possible. Oh wait, maybe nobody still wants to be a face to face partner with the current USA regime. Nevermind… but hey, ask Elon anyways, i'm sure we all need a good laugh
Hmmm… you have do decide, what you mark in your maps of Europe. Your are mixing up the EU and the continent but at the same you show the UK separately but include Iceland and Switzerland to the EU flagged territory? What does this map and coloration even mean?
👉IMPOSSIBLE TOO POSSIBLE 👉techniques ,electronically and PowerPoints ,exploring and implementing but need to try first nearest to an island 🏝 amazingly and idealistic structures and building skills @LittleBearBBQ.Food_Original yours thoughts. Map Pack .
Even though this is not a realistic what if. It's $20,000 leagues under the Sea in this case 20 trillion dollars under the sea ⛵🤣. But it's nice to talk about it. Thank you for exploring this
The better option.
Are you forgetting the great circle?
DUDE, SUBMERGED FLOATING TUNNEL IN A VACUUM, , JAPANS MAGLEV ARE ALREADY WORKIBG ON THE IDEA
, TO FILL THEIR NEW MAGLEX LINE WITHE HELIUM. SO A VACCUUM SUBMERGERGED 3 TRACK FLOATIN (100METER BELOW) TRANS ATLANTIC TUNNEL, WILL MAKE THE TRAIN GO 7000KM/H AT IT'S PEAK.
VELOCITY MEANING 45MINUTES NEWYOU- BOSTON – LONDON/PARIS TRAVEL TIM UNDER 1 HOUR.
Outside the normal ways, only ways I see crossing the Atlantic Ocean is a tunnels = Canada to Greenland, Greenland to Iceland / UK. Or aliens give us their speed travel rights
This is the dumbest video this channel ever made.
