So,
Here are some more important pieces (in no particular order) of the puzzle that I wasn’t able to mention in the video, hope it helps.
DTF Printers can cover all the following materials, and garments:
cotton, polyester, leather, t-shirts, jeans, hats, handbags, pillows, shoes, socks, caps, crafts, hoodies, cushions, and more.
DTF Doesn’t work on: Thin plastics/Very rough texture materials/foams/delicate fabrics like silk/Super stretchy fabrics/ Generally, anything that doesn’t handle the heat of the press machine
Here is a chart of common printheads.
L1800 (slow)
XP600/F1080 (great)
DX7 (Even better)
I1600 (Great, but expensive)
XP1500 (Its okay)
Mimaki (Expensive)
I3200 (Expensive)
single printhead is always the best place to start as a beginner, and you can upgrade to dual head dtf printers in the future.
When applying powder: Finer powders are better because they last longer and provide a softer feel. But are worse when you are transferring your prints onto more delicate fabrics that burn easily.
When handling powder, use a mask
on smaller machines, use room ventilation
on industrial machines, get an extractor or air purifier.
Maintenence tips:
when it comes to cleaning the cartridge there are some things you need to focus on. 1. Daily maintenance, 2, every few days, 3 weekly maintenance. This involves, shaking your paint in all areas,2, pump the paint throughout the system and do test prints before each print and 3. Making sure you keep the print head in a solution to stop it form clogging
DTF Inks in printer should be changed when they are low or getting empty, or if the ink quality deteriorates.
Shake your ink cartridges if possible, to ensure consistent paint flow, avoid the ink levels getting too low,
You want to change your ink filters one every 3 months , the ink pad every 3 months, and its good to do deep clean cycles after extended inactivity
Printing something out and doing a small print nozzle check pattern can help maintain a long healthy printer
white inks tend to be heavier and more likely to settle at the bottom of the cartridge or reservoir, so its good to shake them specifically on a daily basis.
advanced machines: have smart maintenance cycles that run automatically up to 7 days worry free and then a deep clean after a week
dtf uses water based ink systems meaning you need to shake your ink regularly so you don’t get thin ink at the top and thick at the bottom
And some hacks:
To print large designs with your dtf printer, you can make multiple dtf sheets and align them accordingly onto your target object
The right temperature(heat) + Humidity affects your prints and printer durabillity
halftones are a great way to make your artwork blend more into your clothing material, and when choosing the right dpi, you will get premium quality too (show video for halftones)
Tell people in video to search on youtube for (How to halftone graphics for DTF prints)
(show link for video here)
You can prepare your image to be a normal jpeg, make it into halftones, or use vector images., each has its advantages
I hope you enjoyed the video.
Good luck with your life and have a nice day!

Super.. 👏😀🎉🌈💦🌿
"dont buy from alibaba"…. and you show only aliexpress printers 😀
Vantage 14" is terrible (I have one) no support once so ever! I've had it for a month and breaks down all the time.
Super content love all this info highly recommend following this gentleman
Thank you for this easy to follow and to the point video. I am curious if the maintenance supplies like filters and such and ink are brand specific and need to be purchased through the company or are there many purchase options? I don't want to purchase one and then find out that I bought the one with the most expensive required supplies to keep it running. Ty.
I’m all about anything with Luigi
okai printer and shaker is the best. i had mine for 2 years and still using the same printhead that came with it. good customer service. its under $4000, come with consumables and software.
Thanks for the video
Does it matter which DTF ink i buy or are they all the same?
Hope you now feel more confident in what to do next.
