This week at the chateau, we take a look back at when we bought the crumbling Chateau de Lalacelle. Abandoned for over 40 years, this beautiful monument was in a sad state of disrepair, with crumbling chimneys, broken widows and leaking roof, the chateau did not have must life left in her.
With the start of the restoration in 2021 we look through some of the massive jobs over the two years of owning a abandoned chateau in 20 minutes, the family have achieved so much in this time with beautiful finished rooms.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Beautiful reconstruction. You have preserved the genius loci, the castle remained a castle. It was undoubtedly challenging in all aspects, but you gained an amazing space. I wish you all the best and good luck.

I've watched a fare few of these restorations, and I believe yours is the best I've seen. I Love how you used the perfect shade of colors and I Loved the dark wood. So many times I've seen the white or cream walls and furnishings it all becomes to stark or bland. But you have done spectacularly!!!! Bravo!!!
