  1. I'm so addicted to making biochar! I built an in ground Kon Tiki dimension brick lined pit that works amazing. A good tip I have is to save up gallons and gallons of urine to quench with. No pathogens will survive the heat and steam and the nitrogen and minerals get fracked in deep with the expansion of steam. Before it's even cold you have a start on inoculation. Epsom salts a little bit and bone meal I'll add to quench water and cram it deep within. When my compost is good and active I like to add the charcoal to that, the lazy man's way to inoculating to biochar and it's carbon with nitrogen pee in it to start, win-win.
