FASTEST way to CLEAN OVEN (when you hate to scrub)!

We’ve cleaned a lot of really bad ovens. Steam cleaned them. Pumice stoned them. Simple Orange hand soap. The Pink Stuff. Bar Keeper’s Friend. Baking soda and vinegar. Ammonia. Wrapped the oven in plastic wrap and more! But what’s the fastest way to clean an oven?

But which method is our favorite today? Watch our newest oven cleaning video to find out! It took 45 minutes of actual cleaning time.

Supplies and Links
➡️ Oven cleaner, I like Easy Off fume free
➡️ Scraper with a long handle so you can reach inside the oven easier
➡️ Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner (optional)
➡️ Steel Wool #0000
Plastic Wrap
➡️ Best glass cleaner (smells good too)
Paper towels or microfiber cloths (like our favs I prefer paper towels because the cleaner is so strong and don’t want it in my washing machine or to throw them away
➡️ Biodegradable cleaning gloves
➡️ Oven Liner
➡️ Pumice Stone with handle

My next goal is to see if I can find a less toxic oven cleaning solution that uses a paste or spray bottle instead of an aerosol. Also, I talk about why I don’t like using the self cleaning oven feature.

We may earn a commission when you shop through our links (and you’ll get a cleaner home).

Is there something you’ll love in our store on Amazon?

  1. Just cleaned mine yesterday. It’s just me; so it wasn’t that bad. Still picked up a few tips, though. And I think I’ll wrap the element with foil next time. Thanks.

  2. Looks easy enough. Fun fact it's actually refered to as "four aught' steel wool. Which is actually even weirder that it really should be naught. Since aught means all or everything. And naught means nothing. But aught is also used in place of zero

  3. Using the self-clean option on your oven basically ruins the oven IMHO. It takes a long time and my over was never the same afterward. Easy off is the best product. Spray everywhere, walk away for at least an hour then have lots of old cloths and a rinse bucket. It is a great idea to vacuum loose particles first – it saves time in the long run.

  4. Using even a fume free oven cleaner is not a way I want to go. Doesn't anyone have a better way to clean your oven in a matter of hours?? Note..I would never let my oven get to this point too begin with.

  5. You are "The Amazing Cleaning Expert"!!!🎉 Your video on using pumice stone for cleaning the oven was terrific and so……….useful! I currently do not have a self cleaning oven. I did not want to use any chemicals to clean it and sodium bicarbonate with vinegar was not enough. A lot of old residue from prior apartment owner's use. This pumice stone worked .oracles! The oven ic very clean and……..spotless!
Thank you so much! Blessings to you and your loved ones!

  6. I moved to a house and the stove was there i had spent my money bùying the place doing remodeling on inside, frig, washer & dryer never looked in the stove. 😢 I have never seen anything like it, I use a sander to remove all the years of burnt drippings, it was awful. I had to use it for a year until I could buy a new one.

  7. The easiest way to clean the oven racks is to put them in a lawn size garbage bag and put a couple cups of ammonia in the bag and let it sit for a day or two and then rinse off and all that mess comes right off 😮

  8. I soak the racks in the tub w dawn dish soap, vinager and BORAX.. I also use that same solution on the shower glass.. butter… I clean eviction homes.. I've seen it all and Borax does a lot!!!
