I live in Phoenix. Growing indoors, my thyme just broke the soil! My bunching onion seeds, wrapped in damp paper towels just sprouting! I am so pumped – he's right a week!!!
Thank you for the paper towel trick I'm going to try that this year
My cilantro not germinate worth a damn or sage😅
Hi Jeff! LOVE your videos. I was wonderinf if you can recommend any indoor light for growing plants &/veggies. I don't have a lot of space and my place doesnt get enough sunlight. The light I bought and tried 2 years ago was an epic fail; everything eventually died. Please help lol Thanks 😊
love the video and idea about the paper towel
I tried this and only have 2 out of 5 that have any growth. Any tips for what I might be doing wrong? I followed the instructions in this video. It’s been 3.5 weeks now. I may give up.
Can I plant the herbs in seed starter soil then transplant them?
thank you. question- While the seeds are under towel, does light matter, or only temperature?
Wow how easy is this? Thanks
2 minutes is the max I can listen to this guy's interrogative tone.
Thank you soo much!
When you showcase the basil at 4 weeks, this is 4 weeks after germination stage correct? If not then wow you have the fastest growing seedlings I've seen!
You make it look so easy ❤
Do you use the same paper towel? Or should the paper towel be change every time you water?
Jeff I gotta tell ya, you’ve made me so happy. This methods works perfectly! I’ve had trouble with cilantro, but no longer. Even living in an atmospheric river, I am having fun growing herbs indoors. Thank you !!
thanks for the info im learning alot off your channel God Bless
I just got this and it's awesome .
Love!
Hi Jeff, great tips on how to grow herbs, im going to try this out as I did struggle to get them to germinate. Although, I thnk its too cold but, should I use my propogater? Thanks for sharing and take care 🙂
Ok that paper towel trick is genius especially for me who tends to overwater. So don't water until towel is dry 👍🏻 I have a feeling this might deter those fungus gnats??
I'm always up for a garden quickie! How did I miss this? 😳 💖
I didn't know you can sow cilantro seeds that close together.
Jeff we eat a lot of cilantro and I have a heck of a time growing it. After watching this quickie I started some 4” pots with your method, on a 80F mat under a dome. I’ll let you know how I do.
I learn so much from your garden quickies!
👣👣 a couple neat tricks i found as well are when planting small seeds I place seeds in the palm of my hand and wet the end of a chop stick or similar and it picks up seeds one at a time even super small ones like celery or carrots etc. Place them in your hole and they come right off works amazing. I also use a syringe with no needle for watering. It is so soft and gentle no soil gets disturbed. I am currently using a 25ml syringe I got from the feed mill.👣👣👣👣
Keep the garden game strong..I love it💪
I love the video and idea about the paper towel. Please do a quick video on lighting. I really need help with that. Especially affordable and easy.
Help, my indoor garden is being destroyed by aphids. What do I do now ?
Thank you!
I LOVE watching your garden quickies!!!! Thank you!
I love you — haven't commented in awhile but watch often — maintaining 80-90 degrees is a challenge. My established herbs winter over well Zone 6b (Pennsylvania) outside although patchy, and I'm picking the scraps, but it would be great to have them through the winter, hardy, fresh and pickable for cooking.
Great tip with the paper towel Jeff thanks
More herb vids!
Wow how cool 😎 is that!! Your awesome. Thankyou 👍 😋
Perfect tip about the paper towel and hopefully it deters fungus gnats as I am always plagued with them. Have a fantastic week Jeff more snow on the way 😢 🤷♀️🎄🧑🎄❄️⛄️
Yea, a new method to try👍😊
Appreciate this video! Started some indoor herbs and recently bought some cilantro starters and seeds Just got my little containers in the mail yesterday so this video was perfect timing, I never knew about this paper towel method and I will be trying that! Thank you!! 🌱🌞💪👏
QUESTION: I made a soil-less seed starting mix (vermiculite, worm castings and coco coir). Can I grow them to maturity using this mix (plus water soluable fertilizer), or will I have to use potting soil eventually?
Can't wait to try this.
Thanks. Will do
Such a cool dude.
This feels like a Christmas present! I LOVE herbs! I just split and shared mine with my Mother and gave her an indoor grow rack with lighting to help her grow lettuces and herbs through the winter. I set it up for her yesterday! Love this video! Thank you!
Well, if it's indoors what type of lighting?
