Thanks for this video. I moved to a rental house 3 days ago and the washing machine was extremely dirty. When I started to clean, the machine gave me a portion of black sand. I was really surprised because I’ve never seen anything like that. After seeing this video, I took out the filter and received almost 1 litre of dirty water. And, obviously, the filter had all of the things that you can imagine. I don’t know how the last tenants washed their clothes, but I know they have never cleaned the washing machine. 🤢🤮

What kind of toothbrush do you use? Soft bristle? Firm? Looking for something with a flexible head to give it a 45 degree bend.
Never knew the joker was so clean
If you remove the detergent tray, and stick some cotton swabs or a cloth into the pipe thing that goes from detergent area into the drum, you will be horrified to see black sludge and or mould. I have tried to clean it with vinegar but it's still not clean. Can't fit my hand in there to do a good wipe. I can't find anyone who talks about how to clean that.

The best way to avoid water build up in that area of a front load washer is to just buy a top load washer instead.
