Has anyone ever used McGuires Clear Coat after Mother's Mag & Aluminum to clean the lens?
Big difference between 1k clear coat (the stuff you buy in an aerosol can) and 2k clear coat (the stuff your car's headlights come with from the factory that lasts years before yellowing) if you use actual automotive grade 2k clear it will last years… But who has an actual paint sprayer and the knowledge to apply that? Not many… But a professional body shop can do it.
Thanks Scotty! 🙂
I just use Off mosquito spray. It actually works. Spray on, wipe off with a shop towel. Wahla! Clear again!
Windex contains Ammonia and other chemicals that haze, fog and crack acrylic plastics and other types of plastic, so I stay away from Windex and use plastic cleaners made for the picture framing industry designed for plastic.
I wish so much they would go back to SEAL BEAMS. I drove 86 miles per hour 18 wheelers back in the 1970's and a $6.96 Seal beam was all the headlamp one needs. I have an old Camry, the local Shop wants $1,000 to replace the headlamps, the Toyota Dealer wants $1,500. It is TIME for CITIZENS to STOP buying the crap the USA sells for cars and trucks. The headlamps now cost more than the rest of the car. $120,000 for a Ford Pick-up now!!! It is CRAZY. Why do Citizens tolerate it??? $70,000 for a second hand 3/4 ton truck. Outrageous.
So it's not how to restore but to prevent.
Ha ha!
Thank you😊
Great.
We have about 7 really old cars with really rotten headlights.
Thanks Scotty.😢
(This is better for somebody with a brand new car with brand new headlights!)
Looking in Scotty’s garage….now I don’t feel so bad about mine…….
I've heard that's his indoor voice.
I usually use good ol Wd40 every 6 months. Works just fine
@3:51 🤣😭🤣" it's no big DEAL"🤣😭😭
But his tips are short and…..sweet .thumbs up 👍 keep barking at us Scott .
Woah!!! Don't use windex on plastic, it has wax that fades plastics ! Use dawn & water mix
WHERE CAN YOU BUY IT?
I did not know that LEXUS cars were made in CHINA! Japan, yes. United States, yes. Canada, yes. China? Not so much.
The Fred Sanford of car repairs! Love it!
